My 2 favourite guitarists, paul gilbert and buckethead are playing completely different styles.
Basically paul gilbert focus on rock or hard rock
however, buckethead usually plays rock, metal and experimental
tones are different as well
PG normally use distortion with deep and aggressive sound which sounds cool for rock
BH us distortion with really sharp sound so even chords sound like power chords which is really useful to play experimental
I heard PG was BH's guitar teacher for 1 year so i think that's why they have same picking form.
However, BH's tapping skills are better than PG's by playing many tapping songs,
for overall, PG is better because his sound is so clean while playing, doesnt really make mistake and play most kinds of musics such as blues, jazz etc
